WallaBee 2.2.0 Notes

WallaBee 2.2.0

Hello Collectors!

We are pleased to announce that the next pivotal update for WallaBee has now been released for iOS and Android!

WallaBee 2.2.0 brings a much anticipated feature to the game (which some users have already figured out through ItemBee). This new feature will help our worldwide players travel easier, set up trades faster, and pick up all their locked items from far away locations… that’s right, we’re releasing the Lock Box! Other bug fixes have been made with this update, including the pesky popup freeze (which we’re almost certain we have figured out this time), some double-tap issues, and faster responses in various areas of the app.

Lock Box

The following bit of information contains spoilers about how the Lock Box works. For those who want to figure this new feature on their own, you may want to skip down a bit to the Web Messaging section of this blog post.

We are very excited to finally release this Lock Box feature to the community. Our Staff and BeeKeepers have been testing this ever since the teaser blog post last week, with its themed phrasing, and believe it’s ready to be shared. To help you get comfortable with this new addition, we have compiled some basic details to help you get started.

  1. The Lock Box can be found on your Profile tab, underneath Inbox and Forums.
    1. The previous list of locked items is no longer available through the Pouch tab.
  2. The Lock Box is a combination of all your locked items: those at places, in your Pouch, or in the Lock Box.
  3. You can move items directly to your Lock Box from either your pouch (via tapping a locked item) or from a Place (utilizing the WallaDrone moving service).
  4. Players can move items in and out of their Lock Box at no charge. The lock remains on the item at all times, until broken in their pouch (as per normal).
  5. Players can still pick up and drop locked items at Places, just like before.
  6. Players can choose to have the WallaDrone moving service return locked items from a Place to their Lock Box, by paying a fee of 250 hc per item.
    1. This feature is not necessary, but is a convenient option if an item you need is too far away.
  7. Three new activity types are being released: WallaDrone moving service, stashing in Lock Box, and removing from Lock Box.
  8. Players can only see their own Lock Box in-app, but still be seen through their Lock List via ItemBee and ItemBrowser.
  9. ItemBee and ItemBrowser are already Lock Box ready, so if the item you’re looking for is in someone’s Lock Box (like Rainbow Santa Hat #1), it will display correctly.
  10. Lock Box is organized by set, similar to the Market layout.
  11. Uniques are organized by Type (WallaBee Uniques at top, Player Uniques at bottom) and then by Release Date.
  12. Before moving an item from a Place to Lock Box via WallaDrone, players can use the magnifying glass to view which location the item is at. This can help players determine whether they should use the service or not.

Edits:

  • Locks will be on sale until the end of the week. Sale closes Monday, October 22nd at 9:30am CDT (2:30pm UTC).
  • #12 above

Web Messaging

After our last website update (web forums), many members of the community requested the ability to message players through the website. This feature would help them set up trades, without having to move back and forth so much from their keyboard to their phone… saving them valuable ‘store watching’ time. Well, we listened to your requests, and have added messaging to WallaBeeGame.com! You can access this feature by clicking on anyone’s profile, or by heading to your Profile on the website. This will make navigating from the forums to send someone a PM much faster.

Please note that this feature was not created to compete with other services you may be using, such as Messenger, Slack, GroupMe, etc. Messaging through the web is the same as in the app, so links to websites will still not work (thanks, React).

WallaBee 2.1.4 Notes

WallaBee 2.1.4

Long time no see! There’s a new update in the App Store and Google Play Store: Update 2.1.4

This version of WallaBee contains various bug fixes and text changes.

  • Store Third Row – We made adjustments, but they didn’t fix the issue. Hopefully we will have a fix on the next app update. The third row in the store “should” now behave like normal. We believe that the issue causing it to lock up has been resolved, but only time will tell (edited 9/29).
  • Item Context Menu – When recycling an item, the view now automatically reverts back to your pouch view.
  • Messaging – ‘Done’ has now been updated to ‘Return’ to reflect the true purpose of that button.
  • Uniques Page – Gathering information on Uniques now directs players to the correct locations.
  • Selling an Item – The popup message has been modified to remove the bit about being automatically removed from the market after 7 days.
  • Predictive Text – Report Place and Add A Place now have predictive/autocorrecting text.
  • GPS not found – When logging out of one account and logging in with another, the places tab would report a ‘cannot find gps’ screen. This has been fixed.
  • Android layout adjustments.
  • Added Munzee HQ Place Icon.
  • Last step away from wallab.ee! We’re now completely on WallaBeeGame.com and WallaBeeBlog.com

WallaBee 2.1.3 Notes

WallaBee 2.1.3

We are back with a new update in the App Store and Google Play Store: Update 2.1.3.

This version update contains some general housekeeping and a cool new feature for our newer players: Tutorials.

Tutorials

In the Settings Page, you can now find a new selection called “Tutorials” (go figure). These tutorials were designed to highlight beginning gameplay features of WallaBee, so our newer users don’t feel left in the dark. We currently have tutorials broken into three main categories: Pouch screen, Places screen, and Stores screen. Each category has tutorials that cover basic gameplay for each section of the app. We hope that this addition will help our ‘NewBees’ find their way a little easier.

Other tutorial content will be added at a later date, including those under the Profile tab.

Players will also notice that the pesky Introduction can now be exited without having to spam-click the NEXT button.

Website Updates – 06/28/2017

Website Updates

Hello everyone!

Who likes updates? We do! In fact, Judy has updated the website to the newer version of React (15.5.4), which has allowed her to create a better user experience. With Mizak’s help porting over all of the behind-the-scenes tools, you will find that things run much smoother on the site. If you run into formatting issues with your browser, using a hard refresh will fix it (CMD+Shift+R or CTRL+Shift+R).

Layout Overhaul

You will find a brand new layout on most pages (which is a tad bit more mobile friendly), with an easy navigating menu on the top right. No more following certain rabbit holes to get where you need to go.

Side Menu

Personal Profiles

Profiles have gotten a nice overhaul, allowing logged in players the ability to see items in their pouch and their set (or lack there of).

Pouch Items

Set Items

We didn’t stop at viewing your own profile, though. Judy has updated how you can view another player’s profile, which displays information is a format that’s easier to read. To get to a user’s page, simply select ItemBee from the navigation menu and select the Profile Search tab.

Public Profile

Sets Page

Along with the layout, there are some added bits of information on the Sets Page. Players can now quickly see the total number of set completions, who it was designed by, and when the set was created.

Judy and Mizak have both been working hard to bring the best web-based experience to our players, so what are you waiting for? Go check out the new site additions!

WallaBee 2.1 Notes

WallaBee 2.1

Hello Y’all!

It’s time for another app update! WallaBee 2.1 is now available in the App and Play Stores. We are very confident in this next version of WallaBee. Although there are still aspects awaiting implementation (ability to open Mystery Boxes, break Christmas Crackers, see forum notifications, etc.), we now have a great platform to begin adding these features back into the game. Speaking of which, update 2.1 brings back a great feature to WallaBee: Push Notifications. Immediately after updating to 2.1, you will receive notifications when other players message you. Sometimes this can be delayed by a minute, so no need to worry if you don’t get a notification the moment someone sends you a message. This is normal. We will also be adding the ‘Boing’ sound, badge count, and other types of notifications very soon, which includes trade requests, comments on item history, new blog posts, and much more.

On a similar note, you will notice that some missing mixes have been added back into the game: Trick/Fortune Card, Third Degree Burn/Fire Chief Yote, Mushroom+Alice, Midnight Kiss, and Levitating Ball.

WallaBee 2.0.9 Notes

Good Morning!

We hope your Monday (or Tuesday) is going well! Our Monday has just begun and we already have a quick update.

2.0.9 is hitting the market today, which adds a settings toggle for Store Item Animation, along with some backend bug fixes. Please make sure to update your app to this newest version to ensure you’re playing the game in its best version. That’s it. Definitely no Jabberwocky, positively no hidden details, and absolutely no surprises.

In other news, we are making a transition with our email domain from being at @wallab.ee (old website) to @wallabeegame.com. Any and all mail sent to support@wallab.ee will be forwarded to the new domain. My personal email will be in transition as well, but to robbie@munzee.com.

Cheers,

WallaBee 2.0.8 Notes

Greetings WallaBee Players!

Yesterday marked the last day of May, meaning that Version 2 of WallaBee has officially been out for a full month. Including the release of Version 2, there have been eight new pushes to the App Store within the last thirty-one days. On average, this means we’re pushing out updates once every 4 days. We hope that our hard work is showing through each and every update the app receives. We appreciate the positive support the community has shown, regardless of the hangups that we run into. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at our newest update: 2.0.8.

Update 2.0.8 should be available in the App and Play Stores right away, with the majority of updates being bug fixes. Here’s a list of fixes that 2.0.7 and 2.0.8 bring:

  • Context Menu Fix – Items sometimes showed the wrong context menu when changing their state (i.e. Unlocking items didn’t show a context menu every time).
  • Market Set Icons Fix – Older items in the market showed the wrong set icon.
  • Activity Bug Fix – When players completed a set, it would remove all recent activity from view on their profile.
  • Repopulating Store When App Goes Background To Foreground – Stores only gather information when the app is open, so sending WallaBee to the background would cause the app to display missing items in the store when reopened. This has now been fixed.
  • Update Store Timer Logic – When we implemented the above fix in 2.0.7, the timer bars had a bad logic which caused them to appear empty until the next item came into the store. This has been reworked to give a better visual experience.
  • Trade Image Fix – Receiving a Trade Request notification would show empty space where the items should have displayed. This has been fixed.
  • Can’t Send Requests To Inactive Users – Previously, players were able to send trades/friend requests to inactive players. We have now updated inactive player accounts to not display a context menu. This should also help players quickly determine whether a player is inactive or not.
  • Location Accuracy Adjustments – We have received numerous reports of places showing incorrectly in the list view. This is due to the inconsistency between your position when information is fetched from the server and what your phone displays. We have taken steps to reduce this inaccuracy across the board, as well as update the entire places database to ensure their lat/lng positions are being displayed correctly.

In other news, we are aware that some of our players are experiencing health issues with the popping animation items have in the store. We apologize for the unforeseen issues that this animation has caused and are working on implementing a setting which will allow players to choose whether or not store item animation is on or off. Additionally, we feel confident that the app is in a stable enough position to begin reintroducing items on a consistent basis. We are almost to a pivotal moment in Another Night In The Forest… we hope you’re ready for it.
